The teaser follows swiftly on the heels of Apple's Duo announcement, suggesting Motorola is keen to stay visible amid renewed interest in foldable phones.

The short video traces 22 years of Razr history before revealing the silhouette of a boxier, thicker device that keeps a fold but abandons the classic flip. Motorola has not disclosed a name, release date or specifications for the new device. This continues a busy year for the company in foldables, having already launched three clamshell Razr models and its first full-size foldable, the Motorola Razr Fold, which was reviewed favourably in May as a genuine rival to Samsung and Google's offerings.
