Daily Mail · 3 hours ago

The mother of Djuarn Baker-Adams, a 27-year-old woman allegedly killed by her former partner, has called for stronger domestic violence support in Australia after reports that her daughter had contacted police days before her death. The case has renewed concern about whether women seeking help receive adequate protection and whether governments are doing enough to address domestic violence.

Baker-Adams was found unresponsive in a bedroom at a property in Slacks Creek, near Logan south of Brisbane, during the early hours of Wednesday, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Ronald Cora, 37, a rapper known as MC Triks, is alleged to be involved and is understood to have made the emergency Triple Zero call. Her mother said Australians were exhausted by domestic violence and demanded government action.
