Ronan Keating has spoken about how songwriting has helped him process grief following the death of his brother Ciaran in a car accident in 2023, revealing he is midway through recording a new album. The Irish singer, best known solo and as a member of Boyzone, told Billboard that he struggled to write for nearly two years after the loss, until a songwriting session with his wife Storm earlier this year unlocked his creativity again and became the catalyst for the new record.

The as-yet-untitled album is around halfway complete, with Keating confirming its lead single is a collaboration written with Ed Sheeran and Wheatus frontman Brendan Brown. Keating, 49, has previously scored nine UK number one singles and nine number one albums across his solo career and time with Boyzone, and is currently touring to mark the 26th anniversary of his hit "Life Is A Rollercoaster", with dates across the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Austria this summer.
