Musixmatch and DistroKid renew lyrics distribution partnership under multi-year deal
Musixmatch and DistroKid have renewed their worldwide lyrics distribution partnership in a multi-year deal, allowing DistroKid users to keep sending lyrics to music and social platforms through Lyric Blaster. The agreement matters to independent artists, who often manage release details themselves, by giving them a way to distribute lyrics alongside their music.
The companies first partnered in December 2019, and financial terms of the renewal were not disclosed. Lyric Blaster supports distribution to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram and Amazon. The announcement also cited research that fans who engage deeply with lyrics are nearly four times more likely to buy merchandise and twice as likely to attend live shows.
