Wizards of the Coast has announced Mystery Booster Commander, a Magic: The Gathering product centred on the popular Commander format. It will combine randomly curated reprints with a draftable Commander experience, potentially making notable older cards more accessible while offering a new way to build decks for quick games.

Each pack will contain 20 cards, including reprints from across Magic’s history and 59 new cards exclusive to the product. Revealed examples include Joven and Chandler, which joins two characters from 1995’s Homelands, and Tolabow, Loch Rascal, whose Rulebreaker ability permits a commander to bend deck colour-identity rules; the article also argues for reprints of fetch lands, the Ancient Dragon cycle, several Mox cards and Imperial Seal.
