The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced its 2026 class of nominees, with Taylor Swift among those in contention alongside country stars Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton and Phil Vassar. The nomination comes just a month after Swift was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, where at 36 she became the youngest woman ever honoured. Although Swift has since moved away from country music, her early hits remain eligible under rules requiring nominees' first success to date back at least 20 years.

Nominees are split across two categories: Songwriter/Artist, featuring Swift, Lambert, Stapleton and Vassar, and a separate Songwriter category listing Jim Beavers, Shawn Camp, Rodney Clawson, Dallas Davidson, Marv Green, Neil Thrasher, Lee Thomas Miller and Chris Tompkins. Swift's nomination rests on tracks such as "White Horse" and "Mean", while Lambert is recognised for songs including "Kerosene" and her recent co-writing credit on Ella Langley's chart-topping "Choosin' Texas". At the ceremony later this year, only three inductees will be chosen in total — two from the Songwriter category and one from Songwriter/Artist.
