National Geographic is launching a multi-year documentary franchise that will explore the planet one continent at a time, beginning with the seven-part series *Africa Earth’s Wild Home*. The project reflects the company’s continued investment in documentaries and aims to show audiences both familiar wildlife and less-seen African landscapes, species and behaviours.

Made over four years with more than 50 people, the series was filmed in nearly 30 African countries, with crews working across deserts, forests, mountains, islands and other habitats. Narrated and executive produced by Wunmi Mosaku, it draws on local guides, drivers, photographers and residents as well as scientists, and features newly filmed animal behaviours; the final episode focuses on conservation work. Produced by BBC Studios Natural History Unit, it premieres on National Geographic on 2 October and streams on Disney+ and Hulu on 3 October.
