Natalia Dyer, Elijah Wood to Join John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson in ‘1408’ Sequel From Director Mikael Håfström (EXCLUSIVE)

Natalia Dyer will lead a sequel to the 2007 supernatural horror film “1408”, with Elijah Wood in a supporting role. Director Mikael Håfström is returning and co-wrote the film with Mark Verheiden; original stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson are negotiating to return in secondary roles.

The sequel’s plot and character details have not been disclosed, and production is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2027. The original film, based on a Stephen King story, followed a writer investigating a supposedly haunted hotel room and grossed $132 million worldwide on a $25 million budget. FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales and will introduce the project to buyers at AFM.
