Natura’s $99 ring brings voice-controlled AI and health tracking to a wearable

TechCrunch ·

Natura has announced Interface, a $99 smart ring designed to let people use AI agents through voice requests and a press of the finger, without reaching for a phone. It also tracks health, including heart rate, heart-rate variability, sleep and activity, reflecting the company’s aim to combine everyday AI access with a wearable people can keep on.

The ring is expected to connect at launch with services including Meta’s Muse, Instinct, Grokbot, Claude and ChatGPT, and can direct different tasks to different agents. Responses can come through connected headphones, an iPhone Live Activity or Natura’s app. Pre-orders are expected to open next month, with shipping planned for December or January; Natura founder Carlo Edoardo Ferraris says the ring could eventually handle tasks now done on screens.

Both sides, in good faith

The strongest fair case each way — we don't pick a winner.

The case for

Wearable AI represents practical technological advancement in making useful tools more accessible without requiring constant phone engagement. The integration of health tracking with voice-controlled access addresses genuine user needs for convenient information and task management throughout the day. Interoperability with multiple AI services preserves user choice rather than creating vendor lock-in to a single platform.

The case against

This normalises constant biometric and voice monitoring by technology companies, accelerating surveillance infrastructure. The comprehensive collection of health data and usage patterns across multiple corporate services raises legitimate concerns about privacy, data permanence, and information security. There are also substantive concerns about outsourcing decisions to AI systems and the cultural costs of continuous digital mediation, particularly when such technology becomes ubiquitous and affordable.
