These changes make matches feel more balanced and realistic, especially offline, but the reviewer says the game’s wider experience is undermined by familiar concerns around microtransactions and weak new modes.

Shooting is less forgiving than in NBA 2K26, requiring more precise timing, while rim attempts can now fail despite a strong input if a highly rated defender contests them effectively. After around 10 hours of play, the reviewer is also critical of MyCareer’s new 11-chapter “Fire and Concrete” story, including its rushed presentation, and argues that MyCareer Eras highlights rather than resolves the series’ longstanding problems.
