NBC Officially Announces New ‘Law & Order’ Replacement

NBC is developing *Gatsby*, a police procedural that reimagines F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel as a modern detective story. Jay Gatsby will use his skills as a con man to solve cases, giving NBC a series with a procedural format similar to *Law & Order*.

Jake Coburn and Jason Tracey are creating the series, with Gatsby partnered with Detective Nicole “Nicky” Carraway, a gender-swapped version of the novel’s narrator. Casting, release timing and setting have not been announced. The story became public domain in January 2021; unlike the novel, the new series adds a police station and detective cases.
