Neal Huff, Gaby Hoffmann and Sky Yang have joined Paramount+’s six-episode limited series The Best of Us, previously titled 9/12. The drama follows a near-decade legal battle that won almost $1 billion in compensation for 9/11 first responders who became seriously ill, highlighting the continuing consequences of the attacks and the fight for institutional accountability.

Jeremy Strong stars as class-action lawyer Jason Smith, with Barry Pepper and Andrea Riseborough already cast as a former NYPD officer affected by Ground Zero-related leukaemia and his wife. Huff will play Smith’s pragmatic law-firm colleague, Hoffmann an FDNY firefighter and activist, and Yang a mysterious young homeless man; Tobias Lindholm and Frank Pugliese are writing and executive producing the series.
