Nebraska girl vanished into thin air shortly after she became an FBI informant at the age of just 12
Marialice Clark disappeared from her Omaha neighbourhood in 1972, aged 14, after telling her brother she was going to visit a friend. Her family say the friend never saw her and that police initially dismissed her as a runaway; her brother Ed is now appealing for information so he can learn what happened before he dies.
A 2021 letter from Nebraska’s Attorney General’s Office included records saying that, in 1970, when Marialice was 12, an ATF investigator interviewed her about people linked to the National Committee to Combat Fascism, associated with the Black Panther Party. The records described her as giving details about weapons and bomb-making, but Ed and his great-niece Jennifer Jackson doubt she spoke to investigators. Police have also said she was reportedly seen getting into a car with Chicago plates near a lounge; the case was reopened in 2019.
