Netflix Acquires ‘Canopy’ Creature Feature Spec From Brandon Feldman

Netflix has acquired *Canopy*, a horror-thriller creature-feature screenplay by Brandon Feldman, in a pre-emptive deal reportedly worth six figures. The project centres on a botanist’s fight to survive in the Amazon and will be produced by Adam Goodman and Matt Skiena of Dichotomy.

The story follows a botanist seeking a rare medical cure in the uncharted Amazon canopy who is offered as a sacrifice by a local village and faces an undiscovered apex predator. The script drew interest after appearing on The Black List website, and was compared to *Apex*, *Predator* and *The Shallows*. Feldman has other projects in development, including the romantic comedy *Marriage Material*.
