Netflix has begun production on a feature adaptation of Leopoldo Alas “Clarín”’s classic novel *La Regenta*, directed by Mar Coll and starring Ester Expósito. Oriol Pla plays her confessor, Fermín de Pas, while Vito Sanz and Borja Luna play Victor Quintanar and Álvaro Mesía; María Zamora produces for Elastica Films. The article describes the film as one of Spain’s major projects for 2027.
