Netflix Officially Adds Perfect 2-Part ‘Virgin River’ Replacement

Collider · 2 hours ago

Netflix has picked up "When Hope Calls," a cosy Western spin-off of Hallmark's "When Calls the Heart," for US subscribers, filling the gap left by shows like "Virgin River." The move is notable because it marks the first time the series has streamed on Netflix, and comes years after its parent show departed the platform entirely in 2021, giving fans of small-town, family-friendly drama a new home for the franchise.

Set in the early 1900s, the series follows sisters Lillian and Grace as they run an orphanage in the prairie town of Brookfield, and has produced three seasons and 24 episodes since debuting in August 2019, with its most recent season airing between April and May 2026. According to What's on Netflix, at least the first two seasons will land on the streamer on 14 September, with Season 3 possibly following, though the release is currently confined to the US, with no confirmed date for international audiences.
