Netflix Officially Scores New Series Based on 20-Year-Old Classic
Netflix has commissioned a series based on Curtis Sittenfeld’s 2005 debut novel, *Prep*, with Nicole Taylor, known for *One Day* and *Three Girls*, adapting it. The project brings a long-awaited screen version of the novel, which follows a scholarship student navigating friendship, romance and class at an elite New England school.
The book was named one of The New York Times’ top five works of fiction in 2005 and was described as a cult classic by *Entertainment Weekly* in 2018. Sittenfeld said the adaptation came after a 22-year wait; Taylor has called the novel her all-time favourite. Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Alix Taylor are executive producers alongside Sittenfeld.
