Netflix Plans Theatrical Events in Colombia for Grand Finale of Epic ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ Part 2 (EXCLUSIVE)
Netflix will release the second and final season of its 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' adaptation in two stages this August. The first seven episodes arrive on August 5, whilst the two-hour finale launches on August 26. In a notable strategy, the streaming giant has arranged theatrical screening events in Colombia for the final episode through a partnership with Proimágenes, the country's film promotion body.
The season concludes García Márquez's narrative arc by following the next generation of the Buendía family as Macondo, the fictional town central to the story, undergoes its irreversible transformation from utopia to decline. Showrunner Laura Mora and director Carlos Moreno split directorial duties across the season's eight episodes, with both emphasising that each episode was structured to function as a self-contained film, creating a more cinematic experience than typical television production.
