GameSpot · 1 month ago

Netflix says its games division is showing early signs of growth, particularly in cloud-based television games and children’s mobile titles. The results matter because they suggest the streaming company’s gaming strategy may be gaining traction after earlier uncertainty, although Netflix stresses that the business remains small and experimental relative to its wider content spending.

The Netflix Playground children’s app has tripled its daily players since launching in April, contributing to a 600% year-on-year rise in engagement with its children’s mobile games. Monthly active players for cloud games have increased elevenfold since October 2025, while June launches FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition and Unhinged were described as its most successful TV cloud-game releases, without supporting figures. Netflix says it will continue refining investment, with Netflix Minigolf due to launch on 28 July.
