Netflix Sets Fall Release for Cannes Breakout ‘Gentle Monster’ Starring Léa Seydoux (EXCLUSIVE)
Netflix will release Marie Kreutzer’s Cannes drama “Gentle Monster”, starring Léa Seydoux, in selected cinemas on 30 October before streaming it from 30 November. The acquisition and release schedule position the film as a significant awards-season title following its positive reception at Cannes.
Seydoux plays Lucy, a concert pianist whose attempt to help her burnt-out husband Philip by moving to the countryside is disrupted by an unexpected police visit. Laurence Rupp co-stars as Philip, with Jella Haase and Catherine Deneuve also in the cast; the film will continue its festival run at Toronto after Cannes.
