Netflix has announced The Shooter, a new Korean action-noir series reuniting actors Lee Jung-eun and Kim Moo-yul four years after they co-starred in Juvenile Justice. The show marks the first action role for Lee, a veteran character actress known for films including Parasite, and adds to Netflix's already extensive slate of Korean-language content.

Directed by Lee Kwon and written by Kim Hee-su, the series follows Jeong Suk-ja, a woman in her seventies who takes up a gun again after an attack on her grandson, drawing her into a conspiracy involving the powerful Chunghwa Group. The ensemble cast also includes Huh Joon-ho, Choi Sung-eun, Bae Na-ra, Seo Hyun-woo and Moon Jong-won, with Studio Dragon producing. The announcement comes as Netflix prepares to release several other major Korean titles, including the thriller Mousetrap on 28 August, period drama The Scandal on 18 September, and Lee Chang-dong's film Possible Love, which premieres at Venice before a Netflix launch on 6 November.
