Production on the new season reportedly finished in February 2026. It will adapt The Dark Forest, the trilogy’s second novel, which many readers regard as its strongest entry; returning cast members include Jess Hong, Jovan Adepo, Benedict Wong and Eiza González, who has said the new story has greater scale and emotional weight.
