Netflix has added Riley Keough, Devon Terrell, Nicholas Podany and Carl Clemons-Hopkins to the cast of its upcoming limited series "Enigma Variations," an adaptation of André Aciman's bestselling novel. The casting matters for Netflix's prestige drama slate, bringing together a notable ensemble to bring Aciman's story of shifting identity and relationships to the screen, joining previously confirmed leads Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Alicia Vikander.

The series follows Paul (Taylor-Johnson), a man shaped by a series of lovers over a decade, exploring masculinity, sexuality and modern love as he moves between male and female partners, mirroring the novel's depiction of his sexual fluidity. Keough will play Maud, Terrell will play Manfred, Podany will play Harlan and Clemons-Hopkins will play Noah, alongside Vikander's Claire. Amanda Kate Shuman wrote the series and serves as showrunner, with Oliver Hermanus directing; the pair executive produce alongside Michael Ellenberg, Christina Malach and Lindsey Springer for Media Res, plus Aciman and Monica Levinson, with Media Res serving as the studio.
