Sydney Sweeney is set to star in Netflix's live-action adaptation of the Japanese anime franchise "Gundam", one of several high-profile projects lined up for the actor following the box-office success of "The Housemaid". Cast member Michael Mando, speaking to Collider, praised director Jim Mickle's leadership on set and offered new details about the production, which wrapped filming in Australia one to two months ago ahead of its expected release next year.

Mando, who joins a cast including Jason Isaacs, Noah Centineo, Nonso Anozie and Shioli Kutsuna, described Mickle as a collaborative and generous filmmaker who elevated the atmosphere on set. He also teased the film's action sequences, revealing that cast members were suspended on wires to film zero-gravity space scenes, in keeping with the source material created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hajime Yatate. Sweeney, meanwhile, continues to build a packed slate, including a Christmas 2027 sequel to "The Housemaid", which grossed over $400 million.
