Netflix’s New 10-Episode Sci-Fi Horror Series Officially Brings the Dead Back to Life

Collider · 2 hours ago

Netflix has announced that Revival, a sci-fi horror series originally broadcast on SyFy last summer, will join its streaming library on Monday, 24 August. The ten-episode show had previously only been available to rent or buy on video-on-demand platforms such as Prime Video, so its move to Netflix gives it access to a far larger audience. It fits a pattern of Netflix reviving overlooked or cancelled shows from other networks, as it did earlier this year with the TNT series The Last Ship, often boosting their viewership significantly.

Revival's status has been in limbo, as SyFy never officially renewed or cancelled it, meaning strong performance on Netflix could influence its future. The news comes during a strong year for Netflix overall, which has also seen major film successes including War Machine, starring Alan Ritchson, which drew more than 135 million views and entered the platform's all-time top ten most-watched films list, and the survival thriller Apex, starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton.

  • Sci-fi horror series Revival joins Netflix on 24 August 2026.
  • Previously only available on VOD platforms like Prime Video.
  • Netflix move could boost the show's uncertain renewal prospects.
