Netflix’s four-part period thriller The Final Problem follows Basil, a retired actor who once portrayed Sherlock Holmes, as he investigates a suspicious death at an isolated hotel in Mallorca in 1959. When Elisa Mander’s apparent suicide begins to look like murder, Basil must determine which of the stranded guests is responsible, while facing criticism that he is merely trying to relive his former fame.

The series is based on Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s novel and was adapted for television by Alberto Macías, Carlos Molinero and Marisol Farré. Directed by Félix Viscarret, it stars Jose Coronado alongside María Valverde, Martiño Rivas, Maribel Verdú and others, and premieres on Netflix on 25 September.
