Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ Officially Returns With Surprise New Release
Netflix and Dark Horse Books will publish an 80-page graphic-novel adaptation of Stranger Things: The First Shadow on 19 January 2027. The release expands the franchise after its television finale, adapting the acclaimed stage prequel and focusing on the early life of Henry Creel, later known as Vecna.
Written by Kate Trefry from a story by the Duffer brothers, Jack Thorne and Trefry, the book returns to Hawkins in 1959 as the Creel family seeks a new start. It follows teenage Henry as a series of crimes raises fears about his connection to a growing evil; the stage production previously won two Olivier Awards and four Tony Awards in 2025.
