New footage from *Clayface* shows Matt Hagen’s horrifying transformation after an experimental treatment intended to repair his disfigured face instead turns his body into an unstable, shape-shifting mass. The film is being presented as a body-horror story focused on pain, loss of control and violent revenge, marking a notably graphic direction for the DC Universe’s first R-rated film.

Tom Rhys Harries plays Hagen, with Naomi Ackie as Dr Caitlin Bates, who tries to understand his condition. The trailers show Hagen’s eyes pushing from his head, his face stretching and glimpses of his eventual amorphous form, while reportedly withholding the complete creature design; the film also expands Gotham beyond Batman and is scheduled for release on 23 October.
