Lane7 was due to open its first Sheffield venue, bringing a new bowling-and-entertainment bar to the city centre. The opening matters because it added a sizeable leisure destination to The Moor area, combining social games with food and drink rather than operating as a traditional bowling alley.

The 20,000-square-foot site on Matilda Street was set to offer nine tenpin bowling lanes alongside other games, cocktails and a bar. It was expected to create 30 jobs and was described as the company’s first venue in Yorkshire.
