New Pokémon Release Brings Hundreds of New Eeveelutions

Polygon ·

A fan game called Pokémon Oops! All Eevees replaces Pokémon FireRed’s creatures with Eevee evolutions, including hundreds of original designs. It gives Eevee fans a large new adventure while official games have gone 13 years without introducing a new Eeveelution.

Created by 999999999, the game features 326 Eeveelutions, expanded movesets for existing ones, plentiful Rare Candies and a new endgame. Players can also wear Eeveelution-themed outfits and “evolve” their character; an update planned for 21 November will add Pokédex entries and overworld sprites.

In short

  • A FireRed fan game features 326 Eeveelutions.
  • It adds original designs, a new endgame and themed outfits.
  • An update is planned for 21 November.

Explained simply

Eevee is a Pokémon that can evolve into several different forms, each with its own type and appearance. These forms are known as Eeveelutions, and official Pokémon games have added new ones only occasionally.

Fan games are unofficial games made by fans, often using or changing ideas from the Pokémon series. Pokémon Oops! All Eevees builds on Pokémon FireRed, replacing its creatures with existing and newly designed Eeveelutions.

The game gives Eevee fans a new adventure and shows how they use fan projects to explore ideas beyond the official releases. Its large set of designs is separate from the Pokémon games made and released by the franchise’s rights holders.
