The Blood of the Dawnwalker, a new vampire RPG from Polish studio Rebel Wolves, has sold over one million copies within three days of its release, according to an announcement from the developer's official X account. The game has been positioned by many as a spiritual successor to The Witcher series, a comparison bolstered by the fact that Rebel Wolves was founded in 2022 by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who served as game director on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Its strong early sales and reviews suggest it could establish itself as a major new fantasy RPG franchise as the Witcher series winds down towards its Netflix finale.

Published by Bandai Namco and released on 3 September, the game has also earned solid review scores, sitting at 83 with critics and 8.2 with fans on Metacritic. It casts players as Coen of Laslea, an ordinary man by day and a vampire by night, who must rescue his family from the vampire lord Brencis within a 30-day in-game limit; notably, only certain actions such as completing quests or attacking enemy strongholds advance the clock, allowing free exploration of the open world of Vale Sangora without a time penalty. The game is available now on PC and current-generation consoles.
