Insomniac has released PS5 patch 1.001.006 for Marvel's Wolverine, introducing a new toggle in the settings menu that allows players to disable all scent trails and indicators guiding them to collectibles. This update responds to widespread player complaints about the prominence of these on-screen guides, which many felt detracted from the gameplay experience.

The patch removes the purple roots that appear near Nightmare Doors, disables audio alerts for Material Crates, and eliminates the scent trails leading to Whisky Bottles, though story-related scent trails remain unaffected. The game will default to having these indicators enabled, but players can now switch them off through the pause menu. This builds upon the previous update, which had merely toned down the intensity of the blue smoke trails; the option now exists to remove collectible indicators entirely.
