NHL and Fanatics unveil ‘Hometown Remix’ jerseys celebrating local culture for all 32 teams
The NHL and Fanatics have introduced “Hometown Remix”, a special-edition uniform and merchandise programme for all 32 teams, designed to reflect the local culture and identity of each club’s city. The league-wide launch is the first of its kind under their partnership and aims to connect team designs with the histories and communities behind them.
The jerseys were developed over two years and include details such as local landmarks, motifs and colours. The Chicago Blackhawks’ green design features stars inspired by the city flag, while the Winnipeg Jets’ jersey depicts the northern lights; Boston’s is brown, a first for the team in more than 100 years. Florida, Chicago and San Jose are set to debut their jerseys on Monday, with all teams expected to wear theirs several times during the season.
In short
- All 32 NHL teams have new locally themed uniforms.
- Designs were developed with Fanatics over two years.
- Teams will wear them several times this season.
Explained simply
The National Hockey League (NHL) is a professional ice hockey league with 32 teams in the United States and Canada. Each team represents a city or region, and its uniform is one way supporters recognise it.
Fanatics makes sports clothing and merchandise, and works with the NHL on team apparel. The new designs draw on local features such as city flags, landmarks and regional imagery, giving each club a distinct look.
The programme links team merchandise with the places and communities the clubs represent. The jerseys are planned for limited use during the season, alongside each team’s regular uniforms.
