Nicolas Cage has responded to Prime Video's decision not to renew Spider-Noir for a second season, saying he is satisfied with the show ending after just one run. In a statement to Deadline, the actor said "one season is perfect, having said what I wanted to say with this dangerous, innovative, pop-art Spider-Man," adding "onwards, upwards, inwards" — sentiments consistent with earlier comments he made around the series' May release, when he suggested the team had already achieved what they set out to do regardless of renewal.

Spider-Noir marked Cage's first television role and was well received, holding a 92% critics' score and 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and it picked up 11 Emmy nominations, the most of any Prime Video series in 2026. Despite the acclaim, its high production cost and moderate rather than blockbuster viewership are thought to have contributed to its cancellation. The series, produced by Oren Uziel, Steve Lightfoot, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, was notable for releasing in both colour and black-and-white, with Cage drawing on 1930s and 1940s film noir influences, including Howard Hawks and Double Indemnity, for his performance. Cage's next Prime Video project is Madden, in which he plays coach and broadcaster John Madden, premiering on 18 November.
