Tim Curry, who died last week at the age of 80, is being remembered on-screen as his signature film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, surges up Amazon's US streaming chart. Curry built a fifty-year career on scene-stealing turns, including Pennywise in Stephen King's It, Darkness in Legend, Mr Hector in Home Alone 2 and Wadsworth in Clue, but his role as Dr Frank-N-Furter is widely regarded as his defining and most groundbreaking performance, first on stage and then in the 1975 film adaptation.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show, also starring Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick, has become a cult classic and Halloween staple since its release, and Curry's death has prompted a fresh wave of viewing in tribute. At the time of writing it sits third on Amazon's US streaming chart, overtaking Curry Barker's low-budget horror hit Obsession, which turned a sub-$1 million outlay into more than $500 million at the box office and now ranks fourth.
