Nicolas Cage To Play Nuclear Apocalypse Survivor Battling Vicious Cannibals In Action-Thriller ‘Parish’ — TIFF Market

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Nicolas Cage has been cast as the lead in "Parish," a post-apocalyptic action-thriller in which he plays one of the last known survivors of a nuclear catastrophe forced to fight off cannibals threatening his fortified refuge. Concourse Media is launching world pre-sales on the project ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival market, positioning it as a high-pedigree survival thriller aimed at a global theatrical audience.

Set 30 years after a nuclear apocalypse, the film follows Cage's character, who has survived by enforcing a strict "never let anyone through the gate" rule, until a woman with an infant arrives seeking shelter and exposes his compound to a marauding band of cannibals. Written and directed by Adam Sigal, the project is produced by Joel Shapiro and Steven Tyler Sahlein, with Matthew Shreder's Concourse Media financing and executive-producing alongside Archetype Media Finance. Veteran cinematographer David Tattersall, known for Star Wars and previous Cage films Con Air and Next, will shoot the picture, with filming planned for October in Minnesota.
