Nicole Taylor, Country Singer in Triplet Trio Taylor Red, Dies at 35

Nicole Taylor, one-third of country trio Taylor Red, has died aged 35 after breast cancer returned and progressed to stage 4. Her death matters to the group’s large online audience and to fans who followed the sisters’ rise through social media and their genre-blending country music.

Taylor died at home in Nashville on 28 September, according to the group’s website; her sisters Nika and Natalie announced her death on 2 November. Diagnosed with aggressive stage 3 breast cancer in 2022, she initially responded to chemotherapy before the disease returned; doctors expected her to live three months after the later diagnosis, but she lived for another year. The sisters began performing as Red Roots in 2010, became Taylor Red in 2018 and gained millions of followers with performances, covers and comedy videos.
