Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and Dhani Harrison have gone public with a new duo, Dragonflies, unveiling their self-titled debut album and its lead single, "Slower," complete with an animated music video by RUFFMERCY. Although the pair are long-time friends, this marks their first proper musical collaboration, having previously only worked together on a COVID-era conversation that fed into Harrison's 2023 solo album Innerstanding. The project is notable as Godrich's first new music release in six years and arrives as both musicians were navigating personal transitions, giving the announcement extra weight for fans of either artist.

The self-titled album is due for release on 18th September via Dark Horse Records/BMG, recorded at Harrison's Brixton studio with percussion contributed by Joey Waronker. Godrich and Harrison built the songs from tape loops, working quickly and instinctively, with Harrison taking on vocals and guitar while Godrich shaped the material live; the resulting sound is billed as "earthbound space rock" drawing on influences such as Beth Gibbons, David Sylvian and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
