Nightclub The Blond goes dark as Aby Rosen out at 11 Howard
The Blond, a celebrity-frequented nightclub inside New York’s 11 Howard hotel, has permanently closed after a final Halloween party. Many guests reportedly did not know it was the club’s last night until the DJ announced the closure, despite the venue’s busy weekends and long queues.
The closure coincides with the resolution of a property dispute involving hotel owner Aby Rosen and his RFR Holding partners, and landlord Commerz Real. The parties settled legal claims over alleged unpaid rent and a disputed buyback option, and RFR returned the property to the landlord this week. Hospitality group Ennismore has taken over as operator; the address still has an active liquor licence, leaving open the possibility of a new venue.
In short
- The Blond closed after its Halloween party.
- The closure followed a settlement over 11 Howard.
