Nike Releases New Jordan Spiz’ike Low ‘Jam Central’ Sneakers: Here’s Where To Shop a Pair Online
Nike has released the Jordan Spiz’ike Low “Jam Central”, a Space Jam-inspired sneaker honouring director Spike Lee. The launch marks 20 years since the first Spiz’ike and 30 years since the film, bringing together Jordan Brand, Nike and Lee’s long-running creative partnership.
The shoes went on sale on 5 November at Nike.com for $165 in unisex sizes. They combine design elements from several Air Jordan models and feature Bugs Bunny in a Jumpman pose and Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks logo; children’s sizes start at $60.
In short
- Nike launched the Space Jam-inspired Jordan Spiz’ike Low “Jam Central”.
- Adult pairs cost $165; children’s sizes start at $60.
- The release marks anniversaries for the Spiz’ike and Space Jam.
Explained simply
Jordan Brand is Nike’s basketball and lifestyle label, built around Michael Jordan’s name and the shoes first made for him as a player. The Spiz’ike is a trainer created with filmmaker Spike Lee, drawing details from several earlier Air Jordan designs.
Lee’s connection to the range reflects a long creative partnership with Jordan Brand. His films and screen appearances helped bring the brand into popular culture, while Space Jam linked basketball with cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny. The new design refers to that film and to Lee’s production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks.
