Nintendo held a 30-minute Zelda-focused showcase for the franchise's 40th anniversary, revealing that its Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of Time will launch on 5th November – just two weeks before Grand Theft Auto VI's 19th November release. This stands out because nearly every other major publisher has rearranged release schedules to avoid clashing with GTA VI, which has reshaped the entire games calendar as titles either launch early or get pushed back to dodge its expected dominance.

The showcase also unveiled a title for the live-action Zelda film, a series of orchestral concerts, and a special-edition Switch 2 console, alongside new trailers and gameplay footage of the Ocarina of Time remake showing more realistic graphics and a new free camera feature. Unlike most publishers, Nintendo appears unfazed by GTA VI, partly because Ocarina of Time is a Switch 2 exclusive while GTA VI targets PS5 and Xbox, but also because both companies have built success by ignoring industry trends – Nintendo with its Switch hardware line and Rockstar by cultivating unmatched hype for its long-awaited sequel.
