Nintendo reveals its latest Switch 2 bundles just ahead of the console’s price increase

Engadget · 2 hours ago

Nintendo has unveiled refreshed Switch 2 console bundles just before the hardware's price rises from $450 to $500 on 1 September. The move accompanies a revamped Mario Kart World package and a brand new Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle, both of which now include a 90-day individual Nintendo Switch Online membership, an addition that was absent from the original Mario Kart World bundle at launch. The changes matter because they show Nintendo softening the impact of the price hike with added value rather than reversing the increase itself.

The Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle will rise to $550 from late September, matching the $50 console price increase, though Nintendo says it still works out $38 cheaper than buying everything separately post-hike. Buying the console and game now, before the increase, remains marginally cheaper still. The new Sports Resort bundle arrives on 22 October, priced at $530, offering a stated $28 saving over buying the console and the newly released game separately.
