Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie, along with the cult television series that inspired it, will begin streaming on Hulu from 24 July 2026. The film had previously only been available to rent or buy, while the original show had not been available to stream at all for several years, frustrating fans who discovered the source material after watching the movie in cinemas.

Both seasons of Nirvanna the Band the Show, which dates back to a 2008 web series and aired around 2017, will join the film on Hulu simultaneously. The series and film share the same premise, following two Toronto musicians, played by Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol, as they scheme to land a gig at the venue The Rivoli. Johnson, also known for directing and starring in the film BlackBerry, is currently working on an Anthony Bourdain biopic starring Dominic Sessa and Antonio Banderas.
