Noah Kahan issued an emotional apology to fans after his New York City concert at Citi Field was cancelled on 18 July due to severe weather, addressing the crowd during his follow-up show the next night. The singer-songwriter said he took no pleasure in disappointing fans who had queued in the rain, stressing that cancellations are a last resort he tries hard to avoid. The gesture underscores the disruption severe storms caused to live events in the city that weekend and reflects Kahan's efforts to maintain goodwill with his fanbase.

Kahan had been due to play two consecutive nights at Citi Field in Queens; the first was scrapped because of inclement weather, while the second went ahead as planned aside from his on-stage apology. He noted he has played roughly 500 shows and cancelled only six, always due to circumstances beyond his control, and said the venue had exhausted every option to try to reschedule. Citi Field said safety was the priority behind the decision, and Kahan was not alone in being affected, as Zeds Dead also postponed its Forest Hills Stadium show, moving it to 14 August. Kahan's tour, supporting his chart-topping album The Great Divide, continues across North America before heading to Australia in September and Europe in November.
