Though the concert team attempted to salvage the show by postponing doors and removing opening acts, severe thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in the forecast made it impossible to proceed safely. Stadium officials and Kahan's team made the difficult decision to scrap the date rather than gamble with public safety.

Kahan addressed the cancellation on social media, expressing deep disappointment whilst acknowledging that fans had travelled significant distances and spent months anticipating the show. Rather than commit to a rescheduled date far in the future—given his tour is already booked through December—organisers opted to cancel the Saturday slot entirely. Kahan's second Queens performance at Citi Field, scheduled for Sunday, remains on the calendar subject to improved weather conditions. Another outdoor concert in the area by electronic group Zeds Dead was similarly postponed to August.
