Inquest hears autistic boy, three, drowned after leaving Suffolk play area
Three-year-old Noah Woods drowned in Decoy Pond, Suffolk, after apparently leaving a play area through a gap in its fence, an inquest heard. He became separated from a relative in Brantham, prompting a major search involving about 1,300 members of the public and emergency services. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Noah was non-verbal, partially deaf and undergoing an autism assessment. Police divers recovered him the following day from the pond, which is about 250 yards from the playground. A fundraiser for his family has raised £113,000 from around 6,500 supporters to help cover expenses and provide time to grieve.
