Noah Wyle, the actor and executive producer behind HBO Max's The Pitt, has parted ways with talent agency Verve after a working relationship of just over two years. People familiar with the split characterised it as amicable, adding that Wyle has no immediate plans to sign with a replacement agency. In a statement, Verve said it was proud of the success the pair had achieved together and wished Wyle continued good fortune.
Wyle joined Verve in early 2024, shortly before HBO Max commissioned The Pitt as a full series. The medical drama has since grown into one of the streamer's flagship titles across two seasons, earning Wyle a pair of Emmy Awards for the debut run: one for his lead performance and a second, shared with the rest of the producing team, when the show won outstanding drama series.
The departure comes as The Pitt continues its awards momentum. Its second season has picked up 25 nominations for the 2026 Emmys, more than any other programme, with Wyle again shortlisted for lead actor and as a producer on the drama series nomination, as well as picking up a directing nomination for one of the season's episodes. The wider nominations announcement, held in July and fronted by Television Academy chair Cris Abrego alongside past winners Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller, also highlighted strong showings for HBO Max's Hacks in comedy and competition for The Pitt from dramas including The Gilded Age, Pluribus, Slow Horses and The Diplomat.
Wyle's exit from Verve follows a newly struck overall deal with Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind The Pitt, under which he is expected to develop and produce further series. Sources close to the matter said his ambitions on the production side were a factor in the decision to leave the agency. Wyle has previously taken producing credits on shows such as The Librarians and its spin-off Next Chapter, and Falling Skies. He remains represented by management firm Brillstein Entertainment Partners and law firm Jackoway Austen, with the news of his Verve departure first reported by Page Six.
Where outlets differ
The Hollywood Reporter's account is a dedicated report on Wyle's exit from Verve, including agency statements, insider sourcing on his motivations, and his representation and producing history — none of which appears in the other source.
The Television Academy/Emmys report is a general rundown of the 78th Emmy nominations announcement and does not mention Wyle's agency move at all; it references him only in passing as part of The Pitt's 25-nomination haul.
The Emmys-focused source gives far more detail on the broader nominations landscape (e.g. Hacks setting a record for comedy nominations, the full list of competing dramas and comedies, and first-time nominees) that is absent from the agency-departure report.
