NONPOINT’s ELIAS SORIANO Says ‘The Last Word’ Album Was In The Works ‘For About Two Years’
Nonpoint vocalist Elias Soriano says the band spent about two years working towards its eleventh album, “The Last Word”, after overseas touring made it difficult to focus on a full-length record. The album, released on 18 September 2026, follows 2018’s “X” and reflects the group’s effort to agree on a clear creative direction.
Soriano said the turning point was “Settled”, the album’s closing track, which he rebuilt from an older song; its music inspired him to write the vocals and helped the band settle on a standard for the remaining material. He described the pencil on the cover as a symbol of perseverance and rejecting assumptions that longevity means a band is nearing its end. Nonpoint formed in South Florida in 1997.
