Northants’ Lynn served drugs ban after Blast final
Chris Lynn received a one-month suspension after a urine test found a cocaine metabolite following his appearance for Northamptonshire on T20 Blast Finals Day. He admitted using cocaine in the week before the matches, but the regulator accepted that it was an out-of-competition violation unrelated to sporting performance.
Lynn top-scored with 39 in Northamptonshire’s semi-final against Somerset and made four in their final win over Hampshire on 18 July. His suspension ran from 31 July to 30 August 2026; completing a substance abuse treatment programme reduced it from a possible three months. Northamptonshire will face no sanction.
In short
- Chris Lynn served a one-month suspension after a positive drugs test.
- The regulator accepted the use was outside competition and unrelated to performance.
- Northamptonshire will not be sanctioned.
