Nothing is set in stone for Kijoma’s PHYSINT, but he believes it will be his best-selling game of all time

Hideo Kojima says PHYSINT remains in an early experimental phase, with no game engine or gameplay yet in place. Despite this limited progress, he remains confident in the espionage action title’s potential and believes it could become his best-selling game, although the article suggests its unfinished state may explain Sony’s reported doubts about continuing the project.

Kojima has completed the plot, concepts and storyboards, while a small team is beginning work on 3D models and actor scanning. Some staff have moved to OD: Knock, and PHYSINT may use Unreal Engine 5, partly because of the team’s experience with it and its links to Epic’s 3Lateral studio; the game is reportedly at least five or six years from release.

  • PHYSINT is still years away and lacks an engine.
  • Kojima has completed its story and core concepts.
  • He expects it to become his best-selling game.
